In addition to the above we carry out racecourse duties at Newton Abbot, Flete and Buckfastleigh. Events such as National Driving, Endurance, Devon County Show and Pony Clubs are also covered.
One of our vets is currently enrolled on a post-graduate course which will lead to the Certificate of Equine Practice. We also have a qualified equine veterinary nurse, Donna Harris, who has a particular interest in radiography and intensive foal care.
We also arrange client meetings. We already have two organised for 2007, one on worming and nutrition in January and one on joint supplements in March.

The vets and nurses dealing with the pets strive to maintain an up to date knowledge of the latest medical and surgical advances through attendance at courses (see Introduction). We can therefore deal with a wide range of problems (see Case Histories). We would hope to deal with all cases promptly, professionally and compassionately, and to keep clients regularly informed of progress and cost when pets are hospitalised.
Two of the branches train veterinary nurses, and at Kingsbridge the nursing staff are also on site out of hours, to speak to clients and help the vets deal with any emergencies. The nurses also have their own areas of expertise which include animal behaviour and small mammal and fish care.
